Common questions
What counts as a submission?
A submission is any completed form entry saved to your account — whether it came from a pop-up, an embedded form on your storefront, or a standalone public form link. Partial or abandoned entries that were never submitted do not count toward your limit. Your monthly submission counter resets automatically at the start of each billing period.
What counts as a sync destination?
A sync destination is a distinct connected integration that submissions route to — a CRM (Klaviyo, HubSpot, Zoho, Mailchimp, Salesforce, etc.), an email provider, messaging (Slack, Teams, Twilio/WhatsApp), ticketing (Jira, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom…), Google Sheets, or Microsoft Excel. One connection reused across many forms only counts once. Each plan includes a set number — Free 0, Starter 1, Growth 5, and Pro unlimited — and it's a hard limit with no overage: to connect more, upgrade your plan. CSV/spreadsheet export, Google Analytics, and FormFlow's built-in email sender don't count toward this limit.
What's the difference between Conditional Logic and Advanced Routing?
They solve different problems. Conditional logic(available from Starter) controls your form — it shows or hides fields based on a visitor's previous answers, so people only see what's relevant. Advanced Routing, also calledFlows (Growth and Pro), controls what happensafter a submission: using a visual builder, you branch on field values and send each submission to different destinations — CRM, Slack, email, Google Sheets, analytics, or a webhook. In short: conditional logic shapes the form; Flows route the data.
What happens if I go over my submission limit?
On paid plans (Starter, Growth, Pro), your forms keep accepting submissions even after you hit the included limit. Overages are charged in blocks of 1,000 submissions at the end of your billing period via Shopify's billing system — $2.00 per 1k on Starter, $1.50 per 1k on Growth, and $1.00 per 1k on Pro. On the Free plan, new submissions are paused once you reach the 100-submission cap until the next billing cycle begins.
How does annual billing work, and can I save money?
Annual plans are billed as a single charge once per year through Shopify. You get the same features as the monthly equivalent at a reduced effective monthly rate — Starter goes from $9/mo to $7/mo ($84/yr), Growth from $29/mo to $24/mo ($288/yr), and Pro from $79/mo to $65/mo ($780/yr), saving you up to 22%. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from your FormFlow settings; any unused portion is credited by Shopify toward the new plan.
How does billing work through Shopify?
All FormFlow charges appear directly on your Shopify bill — there's no separate credit card to manage. When you upgrade, Shopify will prompt you to approve the new subscription charge. Overages are collected as usage charges at the end of each billing period. You can review all charges in the "Billing" section of your Shopify admin under Apps & Sales channels.
Is the Free plan really free? What are its limits?
Yes — the Free plan is permanently free with no credit card required and no time limit. You can create up to 5 forms and collect up to 100 submissions per month. Free plan stores have access to the form builder, public form links, pop-up embedding, and CSV export. Integrations (CRM sync, email notifications, Slack, Google Sheets, etc.), conditional logic, and file upload fields require a paid plan.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan at any time?
Absolutely. You can change your plan at any time from the FormFlow settings page inside your Shopify admin. Upgrades take effect immediately. When downgrading, Shopify prorates your remaining balance and applies it as a credit. If you cancel the app entirely, your subscription ends at the close of the current billing period and your data is retained for 30 days before being permanently deleted, giving you time to export what you need.
